2019–2023 Ranger — SC206
The first-generation refreshed Ranger returned to the US market in 2019 after a long absence. UnderCover issued SC206 as the driver-side code for this platform. SC206 is confirmed on multiple independent listings (Amazon, mytruckpoint, O'Reilly) as fitting the 2019–2023 Ranger driver side.
Key points for 2019–2023 owners:
- The Ranger's 5-foot bed is shorter than a standard half-ton — the SwingCase mounts in the wheel-well area, not mid-bed, so the shorter length does not prevent installation
- The rail geometry is different from the F-150 — do not order SC201 or SC203 for a Ranger
- Spray-in bedliner (factory or aftermarket) requires cutting at the six screw locations before installation — standard procedure for any SwingCase install
2024+ Ranger — SC209
The second-generation Ranger (2024 model year onward) received significant changes to the bed and cab structure. UnderCover issued SC209 for this platform — SC206 is not compatible with the 2024+ Ranger. SC209 is confirmed from the UnderCover install sheet, which specifically lists the 2024+ Ranger driver side.
If you have a 2024 or newer Ranger, ordering SC206 will result in a bracket that does not align with your rail cap. Verify your model year before purchasing.
| Ranger Generation | Years | Driver Code | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st gen (US return) | 2019–2023 | SC206 | Confirmed on Amazon, mytruckpoint, O'Reilly |
| 2nd gen (refresh) | 2024+ | SC209 | Confirmed from UnderCover install sheet |
Install Notes for the Ranger
Bed length — no issue
The Ranger's 5-foot bed is shorter than a half-ton's 5.5–8 foot beds, but the SwingCase mounts in the wheel-well area (roughly the rear third of the bed rail). The available mounting area is the same regardless of total bed length — the bracket positions relative to the wheel well, not the full bed length.
Tailgate clearance check
On a 5-foot bed, there is less positioning margin between the wheel well and the tailgate. Before drilling, test the full 180° swing with the bracket in the intended position and verify the door clears the tailgate. On most Ranger configurations this is straightforward, but it is worth confirming before committing screw holes.
Tonneau cover compatibility
The Ranger's compact bed means less horizontal space for both the tonneau cover rail hardware and the SwingCase bracket. The 3-inch vertical clearance rule applies as with all trucks. Retractable covers (Retrax) can be tight on the Ranger's shorter bed — measure before ordering. More detail: SwingCase Tonneau Cover Compatibility Guide →
