Nissan Frontier Fitment Details

The Nissan Frontier is a compact/mid-size truck with a 5 ft bed. It has run across three generations, with SC500/SC502 covering the 2nd and 3rd generations:

SC500/SC502 generation coverage for Nissan Frontier
Frontier GenerationYearsSC500/SC502 Coverage
1st generation1998–2004Verify on UnderCover fitment tool — coverage not confirmed
2nd generation2005–2021Confirmed
3rd generation (redesign)2022–currentConfirmed — verify exact year on fitment tool

The Frontier's bed rail cap is narrower than half-ton truck rails — there is less installation margin when positioning the bracket. The SwingCase fits, but take care to confirm screw placement before drilling. The Frontier Pro-4X trim is commonly dealer-fitted with a spray-in bedliner — see the install notes section below.

Nissan Titan Fitment Details

The Nissan Titan is a full-size half-ton truck available with 6.5 ft and 8 ft beds. SC500 (driver) and SC503 (passenger) cover the standard Titan across both generations:

2nd generation (standard)2016–currentConfirmed — verify exact year on fitment tool
Titan XD (diesel/heavy-duty)2016–2019Different platform — use fitment tool with "Titan XD" specifically

The Titan XD (2016–2019) is a distinct platform from the standard Titan 2nd generation. It sits between a half-ton and a three-quarter-ton in frame specification. Do not assume SC500/SC503 applies to the Titan XD — use UnderCover's fitment tool with "Titan XD" as the vehicle. The Titan PRO-4X trim is commonly fitted with a spray-in bedliner — see install notes below.

SC500: The Shared Driver Code

SC500 is the driver-side (left) code for both the Nissan Frontier and the Nissan Titan. This is the same pattern as SC400 being shared between the Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Tundra on the driver side. The passenger codes are what differentiate the trucks:

Nissan Titan (standard)SC500SC503

SC502 and SC503 are not interchangeable. Ordering SC502 (Frontier passenger) when you own a Titan means a full return — UnderCover does not sell field-correction hardware for mismatched codes.

Install Notes for Frontier and Titan

Spray-in bedliner

Frontier Pro-4X and Titan PRO-4X trim levels are commonly dealer-fitted or factory-fitted with spray-in bedliners. If your liner covers the bed rail cap surface — the horizontal top face of the inner rail wall — you must remove coating at each of the six screw locations before drilling. Run your hand along the rail face; if it is textured or coated, clear it at each screw footprint using a rotary tool. Remove only the area at each screw diameter. Drop-in rubber mats do not cause this issue. Full detail at the SwingCase install guide.

Tonneau cover compatibility

SC500/SC502/SC503 are compatible with most tonneau covers given the 3-inch clearance rule between the SwingCase lid and the closed cover. BakFlip (MX4, F1), Extang (Solid Fold 2.0, Trifecta 2.0), and most soft roll-up covers are confirmed compatible on Nissan pickups. Retrax covers should be measured before ordering — clearance varies by tonneau series and rail height. The Frontier's lower rail profile means the SwingCase tends to sit relatively low, often giving more clearance than on taller-railed trucks.

Tailgate clearance

Position the rear mounting screw with at least 6–8 inches of clearance from the closed tailgate face to ensure full 180° swing. On the Frontier's 5 ft bed, there is less positioning margin than on the Titan's longer bed — confirm clearance before drilling.

Frequently Asked Questions

What SwingCase fits a 2022 Nissan Frontier?
SC500 (driver side) and SC502 (passenger side). The 2022 Frontier is the 3rd generation redesign — the new platform replaced the long-running 2nd gen (2005–2021). Both 2nd and 3rd gen Frontiers are covered by SC500/SC502, but verify your exact year on UnderCover's fitment tool before ordering, particularly for the 3rd gen, as new-platform vehicles sometimes require code confirmation.
What SwingCase fits a Nissan Titan?
SC500 (driver side) and SC503 (passenger side) for standard Titan (2004+ both generations). Do not use SC502 — that is the Frontier passenger code. Verify your exact year and whether you have a standard Titan or Titan XD on UnderCover's fitment tool; the Titan XD (2016–2019 diesel/heavy duty version) has different platform specifications.
Is SC500 the same for Frontier and Titan?
SC500 is the shared driver-side (left) code for both the Nissan Frontier and Nissan Titan. UnderCover confirmed the rail geometry at the driver-side mounting position is compatible across both Nissan pickups at this code. The passenger side is where they split: Frontier uses SC502, Titan uses SC503. The same situation as SC400 being shared by Tacoma and Tundra on the driver side.
Does the SwingCase fit the Nissan Titan XD?
The Titan XD (2016–2019 diesel/heavy-duty) is a distinct platform from the standard Titan 2nd gen, sitting between a half-ton and a three-quarter-ton in specification. SC500/SC503 are confirmed for the standard Titan. For the Titan XD specifically, use UnderCover's fitment tool with "Titan XD" as the vehicle — do not order standard Titan codes without checking, as the heavier-frame XD may have different rail geometry.
Does a spray-in bedliner affect SwingCase installation on a Frontier or Titan?
Yes, if the liner covers the bed rail cap surface. Frontier Pro-4X and Titan PRO-4X trim levels are commonly dealer-fitted with spray-in bedliners. If your liner coats the inside top face of the bed rail wall, you must remove it at each of the six screw locations before drilling. Use a rotary tool; remove only the area at each screw footprint. Drop-in rubber mats do not cause this issue.
Can I use a SwingCase on both sides of my Frontier or Titan?
Yes — order SC500 + SC502 for a dual Frontier install, or SC500 + SC503 for a dual Titan install. Both mount in the wheel-well area. A dual install on the Frontier's narrower 5 ft bed occupies a larger proportion of the usable floor than on a full-size Titan bed. Budget $380–$550 for a pair; there is no standard bundle price.
